Banner Making

How to create a milestone banner

What You Will Need

Club Colours

3 x packets royal blue crepe paper – the Ramsgate Beach newsagent stocks the Ramsgate blue

Lettering Guide

Print the yellow letters on a computer using bold, easy-to-read fonts.

Scissors

Use scissors to neatly cut the crepe paper and printed letters. They’ll help you achieve clean, even edges for a polished club display.

Glue Stick

Use a glue stick to attach both the crepe paper and the letters securely.

Clear Tape

Use clear tape to firmly secure the banner to the poles.

Banner Poles

2 x 2m length poles (5mm thick) – or you can borrow some from the Club

A helper!

Ask a friend, parent, or teammate to lend a hand while assembling the banner.

Wording

On a computer, print letter templates to create your message, allowing one letter per standard A4 page.

Method

Roll each packet of crepe paper out to its full width

Lay the crepe paper lengths side by side, overlapping slightly

Use 3 whole lengths of crepe paper to make a background for your message.

Carefully use a glue stick to glue each roll together (press gently so you don’t rip the paper. Liquid glue will leave a stain)

Place your letters on the banner and space as you like

Glue the back of each letter and press onto the banner to secure in place

Once finished attach to poles using tape (poles are available in the clubhouse; attach on the day)

Your finished banner may look something like this:
